Spring Reunion is just around the corner! From May 29 to June 2, 2024, generations of Trinity alumni will come together to laugh, look back on their shared Trinity experiences, and look ahead to the College’s exciting next chapter.
This year’s Reunion also includes several unique opportunities to connect with even more fellow alumni who shared your experience, and learn more about the College. Check out the full list of events!
St. Hilda’s social
We’re bringing back a great tradition in a whole new way! On Saturday at noon, all St. Hilda’s alumni (those who lived in St. Hilda’s residence) are invited to attend a short talk, a light lunch, and a celebratory toast of sherry in Melinda Seaman Hall. There will be plenty of time to reconnect with fellow graduates—and meet new friends who share a connection to St. Hilda’s.
The residence holds a special place in the hearts of the Trinity alumni who called it home, and its importance to the entire College has only continued to grow over the years. From its beginnings as the home for Women of College, St. Hilda’s became a co-ed residence in 2006. Two years later, students and alumni (specifically the class of 1958) added a beautiful roof top garden, which is currently being reworked and integrated into plans and preparations for the next phase of growing plans and research. Today, St. Hilda’s is the hub of activity for Trinity’s Food Systems Lab with street level gardens and growing beds, indoor growing spaces in the old Melinda Seaman kitchen, and is currently leading the urban agriculture initiatives for the new Lawson Centre for Sustainability, scheduled to open in fall 2025.
International Relations Program Reunion: Panel and reception – IR through the decades
The International Relations program has become a Trinity hallmark since its creation in the 1970s. Join fellow alumni on Saturday afternoon in Seeley Hall to hear about the history of the International Relations program through the lens of past and present directors, focusing on its growth and change over the years. A reception will follow the panel discussion.
Divinity alumni social
Providing an opportunity for the alumni of the Trinity College Faculty of Divinity to celebrate and connect across all years, we are hosting a special gathering this year. On Sunday afternoon, immediately following the Reunion Eucharist Service in the Trinity Chapel, all Divinity grads are invited to a reunion social in the Divinity Common Room.
Special virtual events for the whole community
Even if you can’t make it to campus this year, you can still be part of the fun! There are free, online events you won’t want to miss:
Dr. Nicole Spiegelaar, Academic Director of Trinity’s Integrated Sustainability Initiative, will discuss perspectives on land, food systems, and Trinity’s current and future relationship to both.
Rolph-Bell Archivist Sylvia Lassam will share some of the Trinity Archives’ many treasures as well as details about how the College came to its location on Hoskin Avenue. (Fun fact: Trinity will celebrate 100 years on Hoskin in 2025!)
And, book lovers will want to attend the virtual lecture of Kate MacDonald, Nicholls Librarian and Library Director of the John W. Graham Library, and Rebekah Bédard, Distinctive Collections Librarian, as they share beautiful hand-pressed artifacts from the library’s current bookbinding exhibit.
Class Socials and more
This year’s honoured classes (those ending in 4 or 9) are planning special socials for reconnecting and have already begun the outreach to their classmates. Plus, there are exclusive events on- and off-campus for Young Alumni (classes of 2014-2024), and a 2SLGBTQ+ Spring Soiree at the CN Tower.
All graduates are encouraged to join in the many events planned over the five-day celebration, including the Evensong and Garden Party on Saturday night, a walking tour of campus, an open house, and so much more.
Giving back
Year reps are encouraging their classmates to support the Trinity Fund or the Living Trinity Campaign to help ensure exceptional experiences for future Trinity students. Show your class spirit and give generously!
